Group/Category support for Google Contacts in Evolution

My work to add support for groups/categories to Evolution's Google Contacts address book backend has just landed, thanks to Milan Crha for reviewing it all. It should be available in GNOME 3.0, so people can categorise their contacts to their hearts' content!

I'm now working on making the backend properly asynchronous and cancellable, and also looking into adding support for contact photos.

Posted in GNOME.

Ah wait, 'google' contacts.. No normal contacts? :) Like LDAP or sth? :)

Correct, this feature is for the Google Contacts backend only. The other backends should all support categories already (I believe). At least, the local vCard backend does. I don't use LDAP, so I can't say about that.

More of a Webdav user myself.. Too bad.. I guess you can't copy/paste it to the webdav provider? ;)
